I just got off the phone with my dear friend and while we talked about the peak of the semester approaching with high-stress and workload levels we also talked about how boring "perfect" is. There is no rebellion, character and flaw in perfect.
Random almost Thursday thoughts.
Saw my angel Angela today, she took some cute shots of me and Kate. Also, notice how my bag is wearing me in my photos? That's because Italian leather is heaven sent.
Nothing new here, Coat by Me; Sweater, H&M; Jeans, Zara; Shoes, XXI
And just like that, the weekend is over. Nothing eventful happened this weekend, I drank lots of coffee, read my October issue of Nylon, went though my closet to find some new combinations of outfits to wear, worked on a little analysis package for my work practicum prep class and made some delish banana bread for a little social school gathering tomorrow. End of run-on sentence.
My friend who's a year ahead of me in my fashion degree program ( http://kateandkouture.weebly.com ) Made this lovely scarf that I am sporting in the photos above. When she starts to sell them i'll make a post all about it!
Here's a little outfit I put together, just a little fancy something something. An outfit for a night out, dinner, or even for work :)
Forever 21 Blazer, Top and Heels
H&M Clutch
Talula Leggings
My makeup was inspired by Carrie Bradshaw from the Carrie Diaries, I swapped out using liquid eyeliner for a dark brown pencil eyeliner by Sephora, and placed the color under my lower lash line then smudged it (on both the top and bottom). I love the way it looks!
I usually never wear high-buns out of my house because I feel as if they look rather silly on me (mostly because I have very thin hair). But I couldn't be bothered to wash or style it this morning...lazy me! My sister seemed to agree with me that it was decent enough to wear outside of my home, and I think it looks rather cool that my ombre shows though the top of the knot.
Another Wishlist! I have SO many of these coming
your way. I legitimately get so hyped up by things I see on Tumblr or on store
websites. One of my favorite stores is American Apparel but I only really love
the store because of their amazing nail lacquers! Here are a few things I want
to purchase this year from AA.
1. Nail lacquer
I've always been a
huge fan of the nail lacquer from AA. All you really need is one coat because
they are opaque as can be! I believe the bottles hold more nail polish then an
OPI and their color range is just amazing. They have recently added Neon,
Sheer, and Metallic lines of lacquers and I am SO excited to collect more!
2. Viscose
shawl cardigan
This shawl cardigan
looks like the perfect throw for a breezy summer day. I would want to purchase
the white/grey color because it would match to any summer outfit and it also
looks like a super cosy material
3. Beanie
I own a beanie
from TNA but this one is just so much cuter! I think the pom pom would suite
the Fall/Winter months better but I would want a black or red one for summer time
to make an outfit more grunge or edgy. And would look great with winged
eyeliner, I think!
4. 3D flower
mesh jumper
I've had my eye on
this jumper for a really long time now. It comes in a variety of colors, white,
black, purple, rose, and light blue, (maybe more). Lana Del Rey is sporting it
in the photo above, and I think it would look gorgeous with light blue jeans or
a black skater skirt.
I have art classes on Wednesdays and last class this is what I wore. The only medium we use is charcoal so its a lot of black everywhere, I, as you can see, was stupid enough to wear a light colored cardigan. Thankfully, none of the charcoal got onto me! Surprising since i'm quite clumsy :p Anywho, this is what I wore.
Cardigan - I still have no idea where its from..They removed the store from the mall!..I think..
Shirt & Jeans - Forever 21....As usual.. :p
I learned something in my Communications class that can describe this outfit... KISS, stands for 'keep it simple, stupid' That is exactly what this is, a simple casual outfit.
Welcome my fellow readers! I thought it would be fun to add a new series, more fashion related, to my blog! I actually think that these will be my favorite kinds of posts to write because I'll get to chat to you about trends, seasonal items, and shops which I think are great places to get style items from. Since TOPSHOP just opened a location in Vancouver, and seeing as how I was quickly overwhelmed by the amazing-ness of the store, I thought it would be the perfect time to make a list of things I want. The prices in TOPSHOP are a bit pricey but from what i've heard (From Youtbers & Bloggers) the quality is great.
1. PETITE LONG SLEEVE CROP TEE Because Winter is still here I think it's essential to keep warm. Though this is a cropped shirt, there would be endless ways of styling it and it would also make a great transitional piece for Spring
2. PETITE EAGLE ARMY JACKET Army is a trend that has came and gone several times throughout the evolution of fashion. I believe the last time I wore anything army was in 2006...Crazy huh? Well this jacket not only brings back the trend, but it's a great layering piece as well and looks like it would give an exceptional amount of warmth. The added spike studs along the shoulder are a total bonus.
3. GEEK TEE Graphic tee's, anything with bold or artsy print will never go out of style. This is especially cute because of the rolled sleeves wich kinda make it look a bit bad-ass contrasting to the white bold GEEK print. I'm also a sucker for a deep red or oxblood colored anything!
4. CONE STUD CAMO JACKET
This khaki green jacket looks durable and again, easy to wear! With some leggings/black skinnies and some gold accessories & sleek hair you could dress up this jacket a lot!
5. RAGGED BEANIE BY THE RAGGED PRIEST
I've kinda been obsessed with beanies. I don't many but I see them EVERYWHERE! This one is very cool and rebel-esque and I think it would be perfect and ideal for cold cold cities...i.e. Vancity!
What are pieces from TOPSHOP that you've been dying to get?
Last weekend I went to a friends Birthday part and this, my friends, is what I wore. I've really been loving parting my hair in the middle. It's basically inspired by all the Kardashian/Jenner sisters because they all have middle parts so I thought, why the heck not!!

Jeans - Forever 21
Boots - Forever 21
Ring - ...Forever 21..I swear i'm not promoting them! I just own a bunch of things from there!! Ahah
Every year me and my sister have a boxing day tradition. I can see how a lot of people hate boxing day but me and my sister have always liked it and although there aren't any amazing deals its still just fun to wake up early and spend all your Christmas money :) Here's what I got!
1. Green zip up hoodie from H&M
2. Jean button up shirt from H&M
3. Nail polish in "Summer Peach" from American Apparel
4. NAKED Basics palette from Sephora
5. Pink lipstick from Forever 21
6. London/Paris/New York thin sweater from Forever 21

I've recently been thinking a lot about my dreams. Having them, goals reaching towards them, and pursuing them. These are just a few of my thoughts that have been passing through my mind. How am I supposed to more forward in my life with negative comments, or what happens if my dreams don't come true? The truth is, YOU can change your dreams and goals and expectations to fit your lifestyle. As long as you're striving to get something and be successful and happy in life, that could be your dream.
I had a huge problem in high school with certain friends not taking my dream, which is to pursue a career in the fashion industry seriously, and it really brought me down that people would think it was an unrealistic goal and that it wouldn't make good income. I am fortunate to have parents that really support my dream of fashion and that see potential in me. As for the friends that brought me down (there were just a few, but it still really bothered me) I knew they were wrong and that I could be very happy, and very successful in the field of fashion.
I keep dreaming each moment I can about living in New York City or flying to Paris for Fashion Week and to be honest I can't judge if this dream will come true or not. I can only hope that the progress I am making now is enough to make my dreams come true.
Moving forward with negative attitudes was also a difficult transition to go though. I really couldn't accept what some of these people were telling me!! Moving on also means letting go. Now, this could mean letting go of that negative person, maybe an unrealistic dream or just that certain comment that has you changing your initial dream. Whatever if may be I hope that you all move forward in this new year and don't let negative comments, people or perceptions change who you can become.
These are just a few pictures off of my Tumblr that have to do with dreams.

"It doesn't have to be a new year for a new beginning"
This video below is by one of my favorite youtubers. She talks about dreams and moving forward and heading into the new year :) Enjoy
This may be a boring post for a few...But I thought I would just make it anyways for those of you who are interested in Fashion. *All photos are mine, clothes on hangers are made by me and pictures taken by me and my close friends* :)
So you're all probably wondering what these photos are for. Well, it just so happens i'm a fashion student and these were just some of the photos that I included in my portfolio that I had to submit. So like I had said in the little intro above I did sew all the clothes that are featured on the hangers. I thought it would nice to have me and my friends model them for the usage of my portfolio.
Now, i've never REALLY liked to sew. It was just something that was the closest thing related to a fashion-y course in high school. It takes a lot of time and effort and you really have to be committed to it!! I'm working on a few more garments right now that I hope to finish and get pictures of asap to show you all.
I really really hope you enjoy the pictures and give me some advice or feedback on how you think the pictures and clothes look.
Nail Polish - Imperial Purple from American Apparel

Hope you guys don't mind my ootd posts! Haha! They are just super easy to take a I enjoy doing them :)
Today was my LAST exam! It's safe to say I did well in my 1st semester in Uni. I was supper stressed out about my exams but I did better then expected on most of them :)
