Just a pinch

Messy drawer is never a bore

Since 4 or 5 years ago my NARS blush obsession began. I usually don\t accumulate more then 2 of anything (bronzers, eyeliners, concealers, mascara..) I just like to finish a product before I invest in a new one. With these blushes, that was not the case. Dolce Vita was the first one I owned, i'm actually so surprised I have not hit pan on it yet because it's my most used and such a great everyday color. Liberte is a very orangey color, great for when I want a subtle blush color or when I want my bronzer too look more amplified. Desire is a very bold color in the pan and you can definitely build it up but it's great for night out or a really simple daytime look with that pinched cheek sort of effect.
I am aware that these are not the cheapest of blushes but they are completely worth the money and I haven't been disappointed. It's an investment that's worth all your while!

Have you tried NARS blushes? Do you like them?

Matte MAC Lipsticks

There are many loves of my life. Matte MAC lipsticks happen to be one of them. I am seriously gaga over this formula by MAC and I can guarantee you that my matte lipstick collection will be forever growing

The three that I own are Ruby Woo, a blue toned bright red, So Chaud, a medium colored orange- it's not too neon and it’s not too dark either, and Chilli, a brick brown-red which is my daily lipstick that I’ll wear to uni or work. All three of these lipsticks are insanely pigmented and the staying power on them is remarkable. I would say that last 5 hours without having to reapply. And with a lip liner the lasting power would only increase.

The next matte lipstick I want to purchase is Candy Yum Yum, it’s a hot pink and I think it would be amazing for the summer time!

( Left to Right; Ruby Woo - So Chaud - Chilli )

What is your favorite finish of lipstick? Do you have any matte colors for me to try?

NARS lovin'

I attended a NARS Masterclass this past Wednesday night. The cost of it was 75$ and that 75$ was redeemable in products! This class was taught by NARS National Trainer Andre Herbert. He was hilarious and taught us a lot about the amazing NARS skincare line. He also taught us selective highlighting and contouring and Francois Nars' signature smokey eye look.

I apologize for not taking pictures at the actual class. It was quite crowded and there was no proper time to pull out my camera!

Bellow are the two products I had bought and also they gave us a couple samples. One is a sanitizer spray to use on products before applying them to other people and wipes of the same brand; "Beauty So Clean" and the other sample was of the Nars Makeup Removing water.

Top swatch, blush in Liberte
Middle, samples I received
Bottom swatch, eye shadow duo in Mediteranee

I already own a NARS blush in the color Dolce Vita, which is my holy grail blush; but for the up coming Spring and Summer seasons I wanted a more orange-y reddish blush. It was between Liberte and Taos (A much more vibrant red -orange). I decided to go with Liberte because it was a bit more subtle and seemed like it could also be worn in Autumn as well.

All NARS products that I have tried are extremely pigmented and wear for a long time on the skin. The eye shadow duo that I already own is called Kalua Lumpur (I believe that's how you spell it. Its a rose gold and purple shadow duo). Again, I was thinking about colors that would look great for Spring and Summer time and that took minimal effort to apply. This duo, in Mediteranee is AMAZING. They are so opaque and just gorgeous! I've been wearing this ever since Wednesday when I purchased it and I know it'll be a Spring/Summer favorite.

Have you purchased any NARS products recently? What are your favorites!?

Korres Mascara

Let's talk lashes!! So #1, please ignore my gross eyebrows and #2, are you seeing how amazing this mascara looks? Korres is a brand I’m not quite familiar with. In fact, I've never used a product from this brand ever! I always go into Sephora thinking I want to purchase the Lip Butters, but not once did I notice the mascara. Turns out this mascara is better than I would have ever thought. For one, the wand is NOT plastic (I prefer bristle wands, it makes your lashes look more full) and secondly it gives amazing length and volume – super build-able and not clumpy at all. To compare to the Benefit ‘They're Real’, I only like this one a bit more because of the wand. I would probably purchase this in full size, so I insist you all try it out :)

Any mascara's you're loving? xx

Eye shadow look

I thought you guys would enjoy what look i've been wearing on my eyes lately so here it is in 4 easy steps!

* I used the original Naked palette and the Naked Basics so i'll be referring to those shadows

Steps:
1. I mixed Naked and Naked 2 and applied that all over my lids

2. I then mixed Buck and Faint with a fluffy blending brush and with a light hand, applied that to my outer corner (outer 'V') and half way thought my crease

3. I took Walk of Shame and Foxy and applied that as my inner corner highlight and applied it also to the very inner part of my lids

4. I then took a really dense eye shadow brush and blended all around the edges so that the harsh lines looked faded

Apply eyeliner and mascara and c'est fini!!

Try it out and leave a picture for me to see? :)

Review: Benefit They're Real Mascara

Benefit's latest mascara, "They're Real!" was introduced in Fall 2012. I was sceptical to try this mascara because a couple years ago I had tried the "Big Fatty Mascara" and I was not a hug fan of it. After hearing Youtubers such as Tiffany D rave about this mascara I knew I had to try it out. When I had purchased my Sephora Mascara Sampler in December this was one on the mascaras included, and I’m happy to say this product IS worth its hype!

It not only lengthens my lashes but give tons of volume!  You can get up to 2 coats without it looking clumpy, the staying power is amazing and it’s not super difficult to take off. The wand is plastic and the spikes wrap around the whole want, including the tip (look closely at the photo bellow). I definitely give this mascara an 8/10. Why not 10? I have a personal preference of non-plastic wands and I also like more lengthening mascara opposed to volumizing. I still think this mascara is pretty amazing and would totally purchase the full size!

Left eyelashes with They're Real Mascara, Right eyelashes are my natural lashes!
Note: In the pictures above I did not use an eyelash curler

Have you guys tried this mascara or any other from Benefit? What did you think?

Review: Forever21 Lipsticks

So it’s safe to say that this month there will be TONS of beauty reviews. I've been loving so many products lately its unbelievable! To kick of a review I thought I would make a post about the underdogs of lipsticks from Forever 21. These lipsticks retail for $3.80 in Canada. There isn't a very definite selection and it’s hard to even see the colors of the lipsticks in the package. The gold packaging may appear very pretty but it’s cheap and plastic-y. The tubes are a bit shorter then a MAC lipstick but all that being said....THEY ARE AMAZING!

Seriously guys, the pigmentation and staying power of these lipsticks are incredible! You may need to reapply them once or twice throughout the night but for a very cheap lipstick what are you really expecting anyways?! The names of the colors I own shown below are Magenta and Rose. I looked up the color selection of their lipsticks online and there are 5 Shimmering Lipsticks which includes the colors Magenta, Cherry, Rose, Light Pink and Neutral. There are also 2 Matte Lipsticks in Rose and Pink. (I believe both of the lipsticks I own are from the Shimmering Lipstick shades) There are other types of lipsticks that you can check out here.

These lipsticks are so affordable that it is not hard for me to walk into a Forever 21 and not check them out. I suggest if you are on a budget and like to try new products to get them! Super affordable and they go on smooth and butter-y and are super long wearing, especially if you wear a lip liner underneath!

(Top - Magenta, Bottom - Rose)

Have you tried the lipsticks from Forever 21? Or any other of they're beauty products? Be sure to let me know! :)

Naked Basics First Impression

SO, I did it. I bought it! I was debating whether to get the Naked 2 or Basics. I ended up buying this one because, A. I still have plenty of my warm shimmery Naked palette left and B. The basics was cheaper. Now, you could probably go to another (million) blogs with amazing lighting and swatches but here are my horrid swatches anyways :)

The 1st thing I really really like how I don't own any of these colors! Haha All the colors are smooth and velvety, almost like butter. Seriously amazing quality guys! The color I will probably get the most wear out of i'm guessing would be Tease. It's similar to Buck from the original Naked palette but a bit cooler. This palette in general, and in my opinion are cooler tones just as the Naked 2 are. I still love all these colors regardless of warm or cool tones.

I believe this palette was 32$ (Canadian of course) And I think it was a total bang for my buck! (Get it? Buck? like the color I like the most? Harharhar) Especially since I love any Matte finish makeup.

Do you think it's work the money to buy the Basics if you have the original or the 2nd? What do you think about it in general?
