New Year Resolutions & Hello 2013

I've literally been thinking about resolutions for ages I feel like. Every year that little voice in your head tells you "this year will be different, you will be more productive and not listen to those irrelevant people" Except every year we don't listen to the voice because its virtually impossible to do all those things and still be HUMAN. I guess i'll list my 3 resolutions for this year (I usually have 3)

 1. TAKE RISKS
Okay, this may sound typical, but I really plan to follow through with this resolution this year. I want to take risks fashion wise, beauty wise, with my appearance with my life. I want to be a risk taker this year.

 2. DON'T MAKE EFFORT ON THOSE WHO DON'T TOWARDS YOU
That was a bit confusing...hahah. So basically, I always feel as if I'm the person to reach out and speak to distant friends or just friends in general. I've realized this past year "If its meant to be, it'll be" I can't keep wasting time on making effort on those who could care less about me.

 3. MAKE PROGRESS
My self goals include, saving for a destination trip, having fun in school and to please everyone (a bit far fetched and unreachable the last one I realize) I really want to focus on reaching future goals. I try too hard all the time to make things work out and I haven't noticed a great deal of change.

What's your resolution?

Following Your Dreams & Moving Forward

I've recently been thinking a lot about my dreams. Having them, goals reaching towards them, and pursuing them. These are just a few of my thoughts that have been passing through my mind. How am I supposed to more forward in my life with negative comments, or what happens if my dreams don't come true? The truth is, YOU can change your dreams and goals and expectations to fit your lifestyle. As long as you're striving to get something and be successful and happy in life, that could be your dream.

I had a huge problem in high school with certain friends not taking my dream, which is to pursue a career in the fashion industry seriously, and it really brought me down that people would think it was an unrealistic goal and that it wouldn't make good income. I am fortunate to have parents that really support my dream of fashion and that see potential in me. As for the friends that brought me down (there were just a few, but it still really bothered me) I knew they were wrong and that I could be very happy, and very successful in the field of fashion.

I keep dreaming each moment I can about living in New York City or flying to Paris for Fashion Week and to be honest I can't judge if this dream will come true or not. I can only hope that the progress I am making now is enough to make my dreams come true.

Moving forward with negative attitudes was also a difficult transition to go though. I really couldn't accept what some of these people were telling me!! Moving on also means letting go. Now, this could mean letting go of that negative person, maybe an unrealistic dream or just that certain comment that has you changing your initial dream. Whatever if may be I hope that you all move forward in this new year and don't let negative comments, people or perceptions change who you can become.

These are just a few pictures off of my Tumblr that have to do with dreams.

Clothes I've Sewn

This may be a boring post for a few...But I thought I would just make it anyways for those of you who are interested in Fashion. *All photos are mine, clothes on hangers are made by me and pictures taken by me and my close friends* :)

So you're all probably wondering what these photos are for. Well, it just so happens i'm a fashion student and these were just some of the photos that I included in my portfolio that I had to submit. So like I had said in the little intro above I did sew all the clothes that are featured on the hangers. I thought it would nice to have me and my friends model them for the usage of my portfolio.

Now, i've never REALLY liked to sew. It was just something that was the closest thing related to a fashion-y course in high school. It takes a lot of time and effort and you really have to be committed to it!! I'm working on a few more garments right now that I hope to finish and get pictures of asap to show you all.

I really really hope you enjoy the pictures and give me some advice or feedback on how you think the pictures and clothes look.
