First Impressions: Glamoflauge

This is my first Hard Candy product that I've purchased and I must say that I'm not as pleased as I thought I would have been. I  love this concealer, it's creamy and matches me perfectly (the pencil was a good bonus to get too!) everything is great except for the fact that it creases quite a lot under my eyes if I do not use a powder to set it. I know that you should always use a powder but sometimes I’m quite lazy with my makeup and skip it! It's the right amount of brightness and it’s a super heavy coverage, which I don't necessarily need, but I know that there is a better concealer out there for me.

I know for sure this tube is going to last me ages but how do I find a concealer that doesn't crease, I'm so lost guys. What do you guys recommend?

MAC Satin Lipstick, Rebel

Okay, so my most recent Mac purchase was this gorgeous purple-pink lipstick called Rebel. It is a Satin lipstick which means it is a semi-matte color. It looks VERY intense in the tube, but I assure you it’s not that crazy of a color. I backed to Mac a few lip glossed that I have owned for ages, a lipstick and a blush container. After watching beauty gurus such as Tanya Burr and Jen Im mention and rock this amazing color, I knew it was one that I had to get! With a dark red/purple lip liner you can make the color very intense and make it looking like how it does in the tube. With a nude lip liner, or no lip liner at all this color appears on my lips are a berry purple-pink. Kind of like the inside color of a blackberry! It’s more daring and bold but a color that is not difficult to wear at all! Though it is a better suited for Fall/Winter, I will for sure be wearing in the summer, like the rebel I am ;)

New Series: TOPSHOP Wish List

Welcome my fellow readers! I thought it would be fun to add a new series, more fashion related, to my blog! I actually think that these will be my favorite kinds of posts to write because I'll get to chat to you about trends, seasonal items, and shops which I think are great places to get style items from. Since TOPSHOP just opened a location in Vancouver, and seeing as how I was quickly overwhelmed by the amazing-ness of the store, I thought it would be the perfect time to make a list of things I want. The prices in TOPSHOP are a bit pricey but from what i've heard (From Youtbers & Bloggers) the quality is great.

1. PETITE LONG SLEEVE CROP TEE
Because Winter is still here I think it's essential to keep warm. Though this is a cropped shirt, there would be endless ways of styling it and it would also make a great transitional piece for Spring

2. PETITE EAGLE ARMY JACKET
Army is a trend that has came and gone several times throughout the evolution of fashion. I believe the last time I wore anything army was in 2006...Crazy huh? Well this jacket not only brings back the trend, but it's a great layering piece as well and looks like it would give an exceptional amount of warmth. The added spike studs along the shoulder are a total bonus.

3. GEEK TEE
Graphic tee's, anything with bold or artsy print will never go out of style. This is especially cute because of the rolled sleeves wich kinda make it look a bit bad-ass contrasting to the white bold GEEK print. I'm also a sucker for a deep red or oxblood colored anything!

4. CONE STUD CAMO JACKET
This khaki green jacket looks durable and again, easy to wear! With some leggings/black skinnies and some gold accessories & sleek hair you could dress up this jacket a lot!

5. RAGGED BEANIE BY THE RAGGED PRIEST
I've kinda been obsessed with beanies. I don't many but I see them EVERYWHERE! This one is very cool and rebel-esque and I think it would be perfect and ideal for cold cold cities...i.e. Vancity!

What are pieces from TOPSHOP that you've been dying to get?

Eye shadow look

I thought you guys would enjoy what look i've been wearing on my eyes lately so here it is in 4 easy steps!

* I used the original Naked palette and the Naked Basics so i'll be referring to those shadows

Steps:
1. I mixed Naked and Naked 2 and applied that all over my lids

2. I then mixed Buck and Faint with a fluffy blending brush and with a light hand, applied that to my outer corner (outer 'V') and half way thought my crease

3. I took Walk of Shame and Foxy and applied that as my inner corner highlight and applied it also to the very inner part of my lids

4. I then took a really dense eye shadow brush and blended all around the edges so that the harsh lines looked faded

Apply eyeliner and mascara and c'est fini!!

Try it out and leave a picture for me to see? :)

Review: fresh Sugar Lip Balms

Best lip balms ever? I think so! Being a Sephora beauty insider there are special perks such as getting certain sample/mini products when you reach 100 points, 500 points or on your birthday. This year I received a fresh Sugar lips lip balm minis! They are so cute and tiny! They are also so smooth and buttery! Around the holiday season they had a gift set or 2 but a full size for one of these is 26$ Canadian. Quite expensive for a lip balm, I know! They do last quite a long time, and although you could find other alternatives such as a Burts Bee's tints lip balm or a Baby lips chapstick the quality would not compare. They  have 7 types of Lip care treatment balm that you can have a look at here. Most of their other products are sold at Sephora, but if you have a Beauty Insider card and its close to your birthday or it just passed, I would highly recommend you go to Sephora to pick up your little gift!

Have you tried any of the fresh products? What did you think about them?!

Review: Benefit They're Real Mascara

Benefit's latest mascara, "They're Real!" was introduced in Fall 2012. I was sceptical to try this mascara because a couple years ago I had tried the "Big Fatty Mascara" and I was not a hug fan of it. After hearing Youtubers such as Tiffany D rave about this mascara I knew I had to try it out. When I had purchased my Sephora Mascara Sampler in December this was one on the mascaras included, and I’m happy to say this product IS worth its hype!

It not only lengthens my lashes but give tons of volume!  You can get up to 2 coats without it looking clumpy, the staying power is amazing and it’s not super difficult to take off. The wand is plastic and the spikes wrap around the whole want, including the tip (look closely at the photo bellow). I definitely give this mascara an 8/10. Why not 10? I have a personal preference of non-plastic wands and I also like more lengthening mascara opposed to volumizing. I still think this mascara is pretty amazing and would totally purchase the full size!

Left eyelashes with They're Real Mascara, Right eyelashes are my natural lashes!
Note: In the pictures above I did not use an eyelash curler

Have you guys tried this mascara or any other from Benefit? What did you think?

OOTN

Last weekend I went to a friends Birthday part and this, my friends, is what I wore. I've really been loving parting my hair in the middle. It's basically inspired by all the Kardashian/Jenner sisters because they all have middle parts so I thought, why the heck not!!

 Pleather jacket - Guess
Long Sleeve Shirt - Forever 21 (says London, Paris, new York City on it)
Jeans - Forever 21
Boots - Forever 21
Ring - ...Forever 21..I swear i'm not promoting them! I just own a bunch of things from there!! Ahah
Bag - H&M

Birthday Outfit

These blouses I got for my birthday (which I technically picked out myself aha) They are both from Aritzia. The striped one from the Wilfred line and the Cobalt blue one from the T.babaton line. I thought I would do a little OOTN for both, in which I paired a cute black clutch and some simple jewelry. I've actually been really into blouses lately, they sell some amazing ones at Forever 21 for very affordable prices! I've also been dying to go to the recently new Topshop which just opened downtown a few weeks ago!

I'm actually debating which outfit to wear for my birthday dinner with friends this coming weekend! Which do you prefer?

p.s. Sorry if the camera quality isn't perfect, my Blackberry is all that I have to work with at the moment!
