endless weekend

It's that time of year, reading week a.k.a. procrastinate week. Joking, I've actually got a game plan for my homework & work schedule this week.
I've totally got this, I swear.

This weekend (yes i'm including Monday) was quite productive, there was tons of quality time with friends, dancing, eating and no shopping - thank god. I even ended up talking to a friend who moved to Europe after high-school, then talked to two girls in my program who are currently abroad in Taipei. Anyways, scroll down to see the weekend life that I lived.

Here's a song I've been loving, have a listen

Friendship Friday. Noella - Valentina, Check.

I mean, it was in a glass tea cup. All the class, for one little glass.

A late night stroll after a night of dancing, stumbled upon this.

GLOWBAL. The food was delicious, the interior was glamorous. I need an excuse to go back

Ended up getting the Raspberry Macaroon and Chocolate Pistachio Cake at NOSH. Yum, Sister Saturday was a success.

Skip to Monday where I did homework in a Starbucks as a waited for my friend. (That Self Evaluation that I'm writing, yes, it does say A range)

Took a little peak into a few shops in Gastown. Adore The Latest Scoop!

Grilled Romaine at the Pourhouse, it can never do me wrong.

You can never pass up a good shot of the city.

Monday's retail research was more fun then expected. The makeup section always makes me drool.

To finish of this magnificent Monday we treated ourselves to this chocolate paradise in Nordstrom

Check off your days

I have a whiteboard calendar in my bedroom, uni schedule, work things, family stuff, birthdays, due dates and anything else that needs to be scheduled are written down (I can be miss.forgetful at times). I look at that board every time i'm in my bedroom, which is a lot, and several months ago I noticed that I crossed off the days with an X and something inside of me question that. The X suggested a thought like "finally, this day is over" and when I looked at my calendar mid way through the month, it was kind of sad looking because of all the X's, the crossed out days. The optimistic side of me was asking myself why don't I check off the days to suggest a thought like "today has been completed". This was a very small change that I made in my life and it was something that I shared with my friend who remembered this change I made (and reminded me of it yesterday) and told me that it had an influence in her life. Made me feel pretty darn good about myself.

So I guess what i'm saying is, don't X cross your days off, check them off.

Obsessed with this sweater weather

My camera was on and this was the shot and it's cool okay?

Aesthetic, am I right ladies?

Lot's of hard work happened this weekend...

Where's the camera, an #ootd

So, I'm back from New York/Venice and I have a potential job lined up for the summer if I can ace the interview. I don't even remember the last time I had a job interview, it's been that long. Anyhow, an update of my field school trip should be coming sooner rather then later..*Fingers crossed*

And also this sunshine is great but I'm that weird person who misses the rain when the sun is out and wants the sun when it's raining. Can't win this game of life.

Steps

I've been more confused by this saying now then ever. "Forgive and Forget". I understand the action of forgiveness, but I don't think it's possible to forget. How do you forget memories of once important people or of moments when you were younger that you just wish to never remember. If I could forget the 101 horror embarrassment stories that I've lived, I would be a happy camper..Then again, why would we want to forget?

Don't our memories and experiences make us who we are?

I guess it's the emotions that are coexisting with the memories that make it all that much harder to forget. So lets just forgive and move on. No forgetting, just taking steps forward.
Detox your life.

Carried away..

Lately I've been thinking a lot about independence. Why is it that there is a larger sense of accomplishment when we do things ourselves? Are we really proud of what we've accomplished or are we mostly happy we did it ourselves?

I think for the most part, I've been trying to figure it all out myself and I think I've done pretty rad job- if I do say so myself. I think we all need to take a little more pride in the fact that, in the end of the day we are all a single person with our own thoughts and opinions and if you're reading this you just made it through to another day.

You can't have someone else's gut feeling.

Sometimes, nobody is going to understand your emotions but as long as you are leader of your life, you have the ability to decide how you want your life to turn out.

OOTD - casual

I have art classes on Wednesdays and last class this is what I wore. The only medium we use is charcoal so its a lot of black everywhere, I, as you can see, was stupid enough to wear a light colored cardigan. Thankfully, none of the charcoal got onto me! Surprising since i'm quite clumsy :p Anywho, this is what I wore.

Cardigan - I still have no idea where its from..They removed the store from the mall!..I think..

Shirt & Jeans - Forever 21....As usual.. :p

I learned something in my Communications class that can describe this outfit... KISS, stands for 'keep it simple, stupid' That is exactly what this is, a simple casual outfit.

Are you wearing anything stylish today?

Following Your Dreams & Moving Forward

I've recently been thinking a lot about my dreams. Having them, goals reaching towards them, and pursuing them. These are just a few of my thoughts that have been passing through my mind. How am I supposed to more forward in my life with negative comments, or what happens if my dreams don't come true? The truth is, YOU can change your dreams and goals and expectations to fit your lifestyle. As long as you're striving to get something and be successful and happy in life, that could be your dream.

I had a huge problem in high school with certain friends not taking my dream, which is to pursue a career in the fashion industry seriously, and it really brought me down that people would think it was an unrealistic goal and that it wouldn't make good income. I am fortunate to have parents that really support my dream of fashion and that see potential in me. As for the friends that brought me down (there were just a few, but it still really bothered me) I knew they were wrong and that I could be very happy, and very successful in the field of fashion.

I keep dreaming each moment I can about living in New York City or flying to Paris for Fashion Week and to be honest I can't judge if this dream will come true or not. I can only hope that the progress I am making now is enough to make my dreams come true.

Moving forward with negative attitudes was also a difficult transition to go though. I really couldn't accept what some of these people were telling me!! Moving on also means letting go. Now, this could mean letting go of that negative person, maybe an unrealistic dream or just that certain comment that has you changing your initial dream. Whatever if may be I hope that you all move forward in this new year and don't let negative comments, people or perceptions change who you can become.

These are just a few pictures off of my Tumblr that have to do with dreams.

Birthday Outfit

These blouses I got for my birthday (which I technically picked out myself aha) They are both from Aritzia. The striped one from the Wilfred line and the Cobalt blue one from the T.babaton line. I thought I would do a little OOTN for both, in which I paired a cute black clutch and some simple jewelry. I've actually been really into blouses lately, they sell some amazing ones at Forever 21 for very affordable prices! I've also been dying to go to the recently new Topshop which just opened downtown a few weeks ago!

I'm actually debating which outfit to wear for my birthday dinner with friends this coming weekend! Which do you prefer?

p.s. Sorry if the camera quality isn't perfect, my Blackberry is all that I have to work with at the moment!

An awkward introduction

So I turned 18 yesterday. It doesn't really even feel like it was my birthday, though, I am officially an adult and can make big girl choices aha. I recall talking to my High school counselor a few months back. I was talking to her about my future and Uni and just life in general. She had said something along the lines of,

"How old do you think you'll live till?, 80?" she then proceed to make a timeline with her hands and continued to say "You're right here in life" (Like an inch way though the entire timeline of my life) "You have so much time to worry and make mistakes and you are too young to worry about the future so much...

So on my way home from picking up my delicious red velvet cake which I devoured, I make a few calculations on my good ol' Blackberry. If I think i'll live to 80, it would be the year 2074. My mind yelled silently, HOW CRAZY IS THAT? 2074, although the days feel short and sometimes I run out of motivation there will be plenty of time to make progress.

And some advice
