File Away an #ootd

To say that there's been a lot on my plate is an understatement.

Wow I've missed blogging.
Shoutout to Liz <3 for taking these amazing photos! Check out her blog here & her amazing line of swimsuits here!

Three more semesters of this crazy intense program to go, and it might seem like a long time (i'll be producing my final collection this time next year) but it's not and all that's been going though my head has been, what do I want to do after graduation...What do I really want to do with my life..
With internship happening right now and my sporadic work schedule, my mind is a mess. Not to mention my desktop is messy with files from 5 different programs and documents that I have yet to back up and file away. Kind of represents my thoughts right now; sub categories upon subjects that need to be filed away, documents with works of progress and misnamed files.

Goals for this weekend: Finish project, clean desktop and file away complaints.

Restart & Backup an #ootd

I've purposely kept you all waiting for another blog post.

It's been a pretty packed schedule ever since the Fall semester wrapped itself up, but that being said it wrapped up quite nicely with a pretty little bow and lots of confetti sparkles. After my amazing birth week ended (a 7 day event of the being of my 21 years of existence on this planet which included seeing all my close friends, cake, drinks and more) there were errands to do, emails to read and cleaning to be done. Now that most of that is taken care and Christmas is over I can do a little me time before the Spring semester commences.
Enough talk about my current life situations, today was a lovely day in the city (no rain!) with Angela & Kate (click their names to check their insta's). We drank a couple cups of coffee, wandered throughout gastown & railtown, and obvs took some photos for the blog. These girls keep me sane, show them some love.

Here's a cool song, give it a listen & show my Soundcloud some love.

Sagittarius an #ootd

So as the past few weeks have been filled with a research paper on quality assurance logistics (thank god that's over), fabric dying, draping, a lot of coffee and not that much sleep. In between the stitches, it's December (birth month, xmas, NYE, etc. etc.). I'm ready to just hang, who's with me?

Oh, and i've joined the long bob club.

Roll with the punches an #ootd

I've very lucky that I'm taking on a 4 year bachelors degree program, in a field that I've been passionate about since I was a child. I realize that some people who don't go through this have a harder time with routine or might not be as disciplined. This also has to do with who they are and how they grew up. This doesn't mean that people who don't go to school can't be as successful because that's not the case at all, but recently, I was reading #GIRLBOSS and Amoruso was talking about how she wishes she could have had the will power to go to university (but her not going allowed her to build her empire). This made me think about how stressful school is right now, but also how the grades that I'm getting and the work that I'm assigned is not the be and end all of my fashion career & how one technical outerwear jacket does not define my capabilities as a fashion designer.

WEAKEND

Best part of the weekend? Thanksgiving dinner. Worst part of the weekend? Homework.
Not that I don't enjoy fashion homework -I'd rather be doing this then anything to do with history or sciences- but there comes a point when you can only handle so much hand sewing and computer drafting. My teacher actually gave me some very realistic advice the other day. To put it lightly, what she said, "it's a maturity thing". So though i'm not exactly enjoying some of my classes this semester, it's all relevant. It's all relevant. I do enjoy block printing though, I mean, look at those flowers? Also took a mental break by going to the mall...again..oops.

For the record an #ootd

Originality is hard to come by these days. I started this blog a long time ago, I didn't exactly have a sense of direction or a purpose other then show what I loved. Throughout the past year and a bit I've put a lot of time into my blog, locations, outfits, new makeup etc.. I've gotten to know some really cool people though it like Kate & Sierra and I'm just so grateful that this commonality has connected me with such amazing friends.

Also thank you Leigh for taking these photos! (Another amazing person with a photography blog)

And for the record, the "infamous blue wall" is actually teal.

Week 3 an #ootd

The end of week 3 has me feeling a little frazzled. Projects on projects and tasks on tasks. Just have to adjust my pace once again. Trying not to let the million things running though my head freak me out.

 Here's some good study music..
