Set No Path an #ootd

The obvious becomes more apparent when you experience certain situations first hand. It's taken me a long time to understand that you don't have to be into fashion to be in the fashion industry. A company is comprised of so many aspects down to technical and strategic business elements. "Straight and narrow is not the only path to success" (Sophia Amoruso) It takes a couple shitty jobs and experiences to land "the one". For all we know, the one job we strive for, our dream job, may only turn out to be temporary. There's a reason why investments can mean higher risk. (To be continued.)

Roll with the punches an #ootd

I've very lucky that I'm taking on a 4 year bachelors degree program, in a field that I've been passionate about since I was a child. I realize that some people who don't go through this have a harder time with routine or might not be as disciplined. This also has to do with who they are and how they grew up. This doesn't mean that people who don't go to school can't be as successful because that's not the case at all, but recently, I was reading #GIRLBOSS and Amoruso was talking about how she wishes she could have had the will power to go to university (but her not going allowed her to build her empire). This made me think about how stressful school is right now, but also how the grades that I'm getting and the work that I'm assigned is not the be and end all of my fashion career & how one technical outerwear jacket does not define my capabilities as a fashion designer.

work in progress an #ootd & more

Play hard. Everything in life is a process; it’s possible to achieve anything you want in life just by asking yourself to believe in it. Give and take, for example: if you give nothing to the universe, it won’t want to give back anything to you. You may not believe in the powers of God or the Universe or anything for that matter, but give and take doesn’t just have to do with the belief in a system, it has to do with the belief within one’s self, YOURself, and after having regular occurrences of struggle followed by success you will realize, a) how much you have to offer to society, and b) how much the society has to offer to you. Have you ever just sat down and thought about your self-worth? Where you’re going in life and how it is affecting and effecting everything (it’s a load to think about, I know). Well, I can say I successfully tried to plan my future and this thinking has lead to a process of sadness, crying and forgiveness. People deal with most life situations in different ways, for example if something has to be said, I suggest ripping of the band-aid – just do it. Might as well say how you really feel instead of walking around with a dreaded burden on your shoulders. Now, I know several people who would disagree with this because they don’t want to hurt other peoples’ feelings but, when it comes down to it, sometimes, you’ve got to be a little selfish and think about your needs before someone else’s. It is your life after all, take yourself out of the situation, look inside and do the right thing over the easy thing.
Processing your future and paving a path for your future plans is frightening to think about. I think the main reason we get so caught up in planning our future is the realization of possible failure, associated with anger or sadness, associated with money and basically uncertainty.

"The only thing I smoke is my competition" an #ootd

Title of this post is credited to Mrs. Sophia Amoruso, a fashion maven, empire builder and #girlboss

The ruthlessness of an ENTJ spirit isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think it acts as a strength, I look at idols in my life such as Kelly Cutrone or Sophia Amoruso and think, they really didn't know what the future would hold for them, they saw a path, created opportunity and took it. I've been trying hard not to plan too far ahead and to create opportunity and use who I know and what I know to bring me further. That's my current thought bubble.

Classic pink shirt.

This is the first late night of the semester. If we talked on the phone tonight, thanks for keeping me procrastinated.

S U N D A Y

The calm before the storm, a weekend to relax before the hectic uni days take over. I can already imagine the large amounts of homework and the withering of my social life. I took it easy today, did all the little bits that will hopefully make my week go smoother.
After such a hectic summer, I spent my last Sunday washing the makeup from the several wedding events off my brushes. I painted my acrylic nails with the color "First Date" by L'Oreal, fixed up my vanity, sharpened my nude lip liners by Annabelle that I'm addicted too. I assembled my outfits for this week to save me the hassle that would happen in the A.M., thew on a Rose sleeping mask from Sephora to somewhat replenish my skin and unwound by reading a few pages of #GIRLBOSS.

This is also a good jam you should listen too

Nasty Gal lipstick by MAC

Hello friends,

In extreme style I'm blogging fashionably late.

I have managed to make it though another semester of my high active and intense fashion degree. Earlier this past winter (crunch time at Uni) I ended up catching a bug & missed quite a bit of school and it felt like running a marathon trying to catch up to all the work i'd missed. Good news is that i'm almost 100% and I've finally caught up on the things that I had missed and finished this semester!

It was also my birthday this past week so I treated myself to the three Nasty Gal Mac Lipsticks. Just about screeched when I got the mail. Thought I would do a little review because doesn't the world wide web need another?

Stunner
The bright, red, is basically like Ruby Woo (the greatest red ever) and because I was running quite low on Ruby Woo I decided to put this in my basket. It’s stunning and basically the same, and so perfect for Christmas.

Runner
The perfect dark red. (Similar to Diva)

Gunner
This is the showstopper, the perfect purple, I tried searching for a dark purple lipstick in the summer, I didn't want to buy a color that looks like black because that's a little too Gothic for my liking. In the summer I ended up buying the Sephora cream lip stain in 07 and although I love it, it has a little metallic shimmer to it. Gunner is the perfect dark purple, it doesn't look black and it's not pinky what-so-ever. If I only had to buy one out of this collection, this would be it!

Sophia Amoruso is such a power house
Did you purchase any of the collection? What do you like the best?

Okay, time to schedule some posts this week and catch up on all the blogging i've missed

Posting Schedule

I think that I'm going to be posting 5 days a week. I'm going to try really hard to continue that goal of mine. I've always wanted to be a consistent blogger. I think I've started a blog about 4 or 5 times and it never really worked out. I think it was mainly due to the fact that I didn't know where I was going in life. I also didn't know who I wanted to address.

It's obviously clear to me now that Fashion is my biggest hobby and my goal in life is to work in the industry. Hand in hand, I love beauty as well so it was clear that fashion was going to be numero uno as a topic then beauty. But I also was inspired by people like Zoella, to do more lifestyle posts as well.

The most difficult thing about this is how to let my audience find me if there are so many others like me?..Which is a terrible thought because I don't want to consider myself  similar to others. We all do have our individual thoughts, maybe this blogging thing isn't going to work out for me forever. But I feel at this point of my life it's something that's keeping me going.

Thanks for the follows and views!
